Football Bros Franchise Mode Guide: Season, Draft, Morale Events and the Super Bro Bowl

Published · 3 min read

Quick Play is one game. Franchise Mode is the same games strung into a season with a front office around them, and it is where Football Bros becomes something you come back to for a week.

Season shape

Pick a city on the franchise screen and the game welcomes you as the new owner with one goal: win the Super Bro Bowl. The pro season is 17 weeks long and the playoffs start in week 18. Every game is played by you, so a season is roughly 17 eight-minute matches plus the postseason, while the rest of the league's results are simulated between weeks. The standings, schedule, league leaders and your roster each have a tab on the franchise screen.

The Switch to College button on the title screen swaps the league. College seasons are 12 weeks with playoffs from week 13, the teams are the parody college programs (GA Dawgs, Bama Red Tide, OR Quackers and so on), and the yearly Draft screen becomes Recruit. The rules on the field are the same.

The draft

At the end of each season you draft one player and he replaces someone on the roster. Drafted and recruited players improve as seasons pass, so a young receiver with average hands becomes the best player on the team by year three. Your quarterback matters most: the accuracy rating decides how far you can throw reliably, so if the draft offers a quarterback with a better accuracy bar than yours, take him even if your current starter has more speed.

Contracts, salary and morale events

Each player has a salary line in Contract Info. Between games the franchise throws events at you with two answers, and each answer moves morale and stamina. A player wants to renegotiate mid-season: settle it Now and he is happy but distracted at practice, make him Wait and morale drops two points and the locker room sours. The owner wants a strict social media policy the players hate: Enforce it and lose morale, ignore it and answer to him later. A booster wants to throw a party the night before practice. None of these are trick questions; after you answer, the game shows what the choice did to morale and stamina, and the pattern is consistent: siding with the player costs stamina, siding with management costs morale. Pay with whichever stat you can afford that week. Stamina you can rebuild; a morale slide costs games.

Injuries happen. A player marked Out for season is gone until the next one, and the roster fills from the bench, so keep an eye on the second receiver's ratings before the playoffs.

Unlocking teams and plays

The team grid starts mostly locked with Win games, unlock more teams! under it. Wins in any mode count, and the unlocks are saved in your browser (or to your Google account if you sign in through the game). Post-game upgrade picks add plays to your four-card draw — Max Protect, Screen N Go, I Outs, WR Stack, WR Rub — which is worth more in a franchise than in Quick Play, because a deeper deck means the same defense sees fewer repeats.

Winning the Super Bro Bowl

Playoff games are single elimination and the game announces Playoff Victory after each one; the final prints Super Bro Bowl Champs. The teams you meet there have the green bars, so by week 18 you want a quarterback with high accuracy, one receiver with green hands, and the habit of scrambling on third-and-long instead of forcing a throw into Prevent.
